Custom Draperies

Custom curtains and drapery add an inimitable quality and character to any space. We have a vast fabric library with selections from top brands, including Faircut, Trend, Stroheim, Carole Fabrics, ADO, Flair 21, and many more. Our professional decorators will work closely with you to create unique window treatments made just for you.

The “Wow” Factor

Custom drapes are an excellent way to dress up your windows. Drapes and side panels can be used alone or layered with other coverings to add depth and visual interest to your room. If you’re seeking a “wow” factor to impress guests, a custom cornice or valance can create it.

Wood or Fabric Cornices

A cornice is one of the most traditional top treatments for windows. They bring a classic, stylish look and are available in a variety of shapes. Simply select your favorite fabric, paint, stain, even wallpaper, and your custom cornice will come together. The right cornice can make your windows appear larger and conceal room flaws and hardware.

Fabric Valances

A fabric valance can add the illusion of height to windows but add additional depth and detail to your room. Valances not only conceal architectural blemishes but also add softness to any space. You choose any style, but the most popular styles include balloon valances, crescent valances, and ascot valances, among others.

Collection Features

The foundation of the Design Studio™ collection is, of course, the fabrics. From luxurious basics to intriguing textures, captivating jacquards, to lustrous sheers, there’s something for everyone. You can also choose from a variety of beautiful styles for both side panels and drapery. Side panels are available in a two-finger pinch pleat, two-finger European pinch pleat, and grommet. Drapery is available in both two-finger pinch pleat styles and ripplefold. Each fabric, with the exception of sheers, is fully lined with either a light-filtering or room-darkening liner.

Choosing Curtains: Bedrooms

Curtains in your bedroom not only enhance the decor but also help ensure you get a night of quality sleep. Your curtains should be mounted between 4 and 6 inches above your window frame for the best look and most efficient light filtering. A blackout curtain is the most common for bedrooms, but you can also add a Roman or roller shade to your window if you’d like light, airy curtains. If you’re a fan of patterns, keep in mind that a patterned curtain will become a piece of wall art in addition to a window covering.

Choosing Curtains: Living Rooms

Since living rooms are an area of your home where you entertain guests, it’s important to have drapes that have a warm, welcoming feel. Silk is a traditional, classy fabric that will give your living room a sense of formality, especially if your window curtains are pleated. If privacy is a concern, be sure to have a light-filtering liner added.

Cotton is one of the most versatile drapery fabrics and can add a casual or formal look to a room. Cotton is available in an almost endless variety of styles, colors, and patterns but can be a little stiff. An added bonus is that it is a very easy fabric to clean. Linen is a very light, frequently sheer fabric that is often used in more casual decor styles.

For a more traditional look, mount your drapes about 6 inches above the window frame. If you’re going for a more contemporary feel, mount your curtains just below the ceiling. This will make your ceiling appear higher and your room appear larger.
